With her hazel eyes, glowing skin and ethnically indeterminate looks, Anisa always knew the world of glamour would beckon. Soon to be seen in 1-800-Love, Abbas Tyrewala's next film, Anisa talks about her passion for acting and why she's ready to struggle for her dream.

Did you always want to be a performer? How did you work towards your dream?

I have always been passionate about acting and dancing. My love for acting grew through out my educational years and I honed it through participation in fringe theatre, commercials, short films etc. I've also done numerous courses, including my BA in Drama (performance) from Queen Mary University, London, an Actor Masterclass under Kevin Spacey at Old Vic Theare, a course in Acting for Screen at the London Academy of Radio, TV and Film and some others.

What would you call your strengths?

I'm very conscientious and very determined. I love challenges. I also love working with new people and consider myself a team player. That aside, I have also studied many dance forms - modern Indian dance, Bollywood, Arabic, street style, salsa - and I can speak English and Hindi well.

What is your motto in life?

Each day is a blessing. I think living well is about following your heart and pursuing your dream, regardless of the obstacles you will face. I believe in what Nelson Mandela had to say - "After climbing a great hill, one find that there are many more hills to climb." I know that struggle is a part of life's journey - a journey to finding your own happiness. For me, working in this line, doing what I really want to do, is my happiness.
